What do Fitness, Ginormous Babies & Coca-Cola Have in Common? **Video**

Well, nothing until I get done weaving them together. I have that mad skill when it comes to my videos. I start on one thing, go off on a few tangents, then bring that story full circle.

I am on week 7 or Uprising #2 of the Revolt Fitness program and so far so good. My energy, over the past six weeks, has improved and I have grown tolerant of working out five days a week. Here is what I have learned: If you want something bad enough, you will stop your moaning and complaining and just do it. I workout because I want results and I workout even when I don’t feel like it. Especially when I don’t feel like it.

My results were awesome the previous week, but this past week, not so much. I am in hopes by saying I was retaining some water weight and craving sugar like crazy at a particular time of the month will be enough information for you to understand my temporary setback in progress. So, this week, at the start of a new Uprising, I have high hopes for a great week. Yesterday’s workout was a nice change of pace. Nichole introduced us to the Tabata workout. Have you heard of this or tried it out? It kicks your behind and makes you feel good all at the same time.

Also, I am doing daily videos for the month of June. I have completed three so far and the one below is my latest. I share my fitness program and go off on a few “related” tangents about giant babies and soda pop. It is me. It is what I do, but I bring it back full circle by the end. Make sure you subscribe to my channel and catch my videos daily. Until next time, make this and every day outstanding!

Working on a Handstand, Flexibility and Fitness Update

I have a few fitness goals I would like to achieve by the end of the year.

  1. Do a proper handstand.
  2. Increase my flexibility.
  3. Transform my body into a fat burning machine.

The handstand, while achievable, is a challenge, but one I am looking forward to practicing on a regular basis. On Instagram, there are numerous yoga challenges I have been participating in and each one of them offers up a different challenge daily. Some poses are easier than others and some I can not even attempt. If you are looking to start or get your yoga practice in order, you should definitely check out 30 Days of Yoga. It is one of the best things I have done for myself.

After doing my Revolt workouts, it is easier to stretch and practice the yoga poses. My body is already warm and it makes the stretches a lot easier. The handstands, on the other hand, offer one heck of a challenge for me. I remember doing handstands, cartwheels and all kinds of acrobatic moves when I was a wee girl. Now that I am older, I wonder how in the heck I did a lot of those things. I miss that flexibility big time now.

Now, for the update on the Revolt fitness plan, I am not losing pounds the way I thought I would, but I am losing fat and gaining muscle. The scale simply is not a reliable instrument for me when it comes to weight loss. Calipers and a plain measuring tape are my go to tools for taking measurements for body fat calculations.

I read something recently about it taking four weeks for you to notice changes, eight weeks for your family to notice changes and twelve weeks for everyone else to notice your weight changes. I’d say this is pretty darn accurate. Here’s to continued progress and success.

Starting a Revolt

Disclosure: I was given a free membership to Revolt Fitness. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.

This week, I started a new fitness program, Revolt with Nichole Huntsman. I knew if I wanted to make this a lifestyle change, I was going to have to combine clean eating with dedicated exercise. I am proud to say I have worked out everyday this week except one (that was a mandatory rest day) and my diet has been pretty good. What has appealed to me about the Revolt program is the exercise videos, how active Nichole is with the Facebook groups and her energy. She makes you want to get in shape and stay that way.

Technically, today is a cheat day and I can eat whatever I want, but I’m not planning to do that. For breakfast, I had fish and half a baked potato. That is what I had a taste for instead of waffles with syrup. Now that I just wrote that, I would not mind a really good belgian waffle…homemade!

So far I am down three pounds and I can tell my body is changing. I am also participating in a daily yoga challenge on Instagram, hashtagged, #maytheforcebewithyogis . No lie, the poses are a challenge and they are showing me where I have weaknesses strength-wise., but I keep practicing. I figure if I keep it up, I will reach my goal weight before the end of the summer. That is pretty darn exciting and I am looking forward to the challenge.
