lucrecer

Hello, friend! My name is Lucrecer and I always have a story.

I’d like to welcome you to my little slice of the interwebs and invite you to explore. This page is intended to give you an idea of who I am and what you will find here.

I am a hardcore gadget girl, I love traveling to new places and I make a mean homemade rice krispie treat. I have been a photographer for over thirteen years focusing on portraits and everyday still life photography. I get a thrill when I take a picture of a person who does not think they are very photogenic. I tell them they have not had the right person photograph them yet!

I started this blog to answer the questions I am asked about how to take a better picture and how to tell stories with pictures. I believe everyone can take amazing pictures regardless of the type of camera you use or your skill level. If you are looking to grow as a photographer or to gain a little inspiration along your photography journey, then this is the place for you and I am glad to have you here.

I publish a post sort of weekly and if you don’t want to miss out on the latest, sign up for my newsletter below. I welcome questions and suggestions and I love hearing from my readers.

I had the pleasure of meeting Lucrecer Braxton after she spoke on the “Finding Your Visual Voice” panel at Viewfinder Day at BlogHer 2013. With humor, she engaged the audience while providing concrete tips to improve our photography. She was very refreshing and entertaining! Afterwards, during a photography break session that day, she lead our group in a mini photo shoot, providing excellent hands-on tips about choosing lenses and choosing shutter speed. Lucrecer is a great instructor, and I look forward to learning more from her!

Keynote Speaker & Workshop Leader

One of my favorite things to do is share my love of photography and storytelling. I will be leading a workshop in July at BlogHer’s Pathfinder Day with Neil Kramer called Path of the Artist. Won’t you join us? Prior Speaking Engagements: WDBZ The Buzz Book Fair – Blogging for Writers and Authors BlogHer ViewFinder Day – Finding Your Photographic Voice Blissdom – Improving Your Portrait Photography 5B Conference – Google+ WDBZ Buzz Book Fair – Writing and Creativity Workshop EVO – Living the Good Life, Ignite Keynote EVO – Crafting Workshop BlogHer – Beautiful Blogging and Positive Posting. In 2009, I was featured in a Cincinnati Enquirer article , along with three other bloggers, about the growing female blogging community and its influence in Cincinnati. That was a thrill and yes, I had ten copies of the paper to share with family. In addition to speaking, I have a been a crafting and vlogging community leader at Blissdom and guided many newbies through their first conference experience.

Just one year ago, you taught me how to capture shots like this. You are an amazing teacher.
