A few days ago, I read an article about an upcoming exhibit about Hello Kitty. My second daughter has always liked Hello Kitty and she has quite a few of them. In the article, the anthropologist in charge of the exhibit was firmly corrected by Sanrio that Hello Kitty, is NOT a cat.
Have they looked at Hello Kitty? Seriously? Have they? In my latest video, my daughter and I try to get down to the bottom of this cat, non-cat nonsense.
Hello Kitty is a big deal. Mid-October, a retrospective of Kitty art will be featured at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. Two weeks later, the first ever Hello Kitty Con takes place at The Geffen Contemporary at the MoCA. This marks the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty.
What do you think? Is Hello Kitty a cat or a girl?

Preach it, sister! Hello Kitty is a cat. Period.
My thoughts exactly, Kim! LOL
You two are awesome.
She’s a cat! This is all a PR move.
Exactly! And, after seeing there is a convention and an exhibit happening, there is no way this suddenly came out. I was told by a friend who lived in Japan that Hello Kitty not being a cat is a big deal.
Do you know how many people I have corrected on pronouncing GIF correctly? LOL
