Getting My Haul On with CoverGirl

Thank you to Kroger and CoverGirl for sponsoring this review. While CoverGirl provided me with a $30 gift card to purchase CoverGirl products at Kroger stores, the opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own, represent my honest viewpoint, and not that of CoverGirl, Kroger, or Proctor & Gamble. I am making no claims about the products, just expressing my thoughtful opinion. Clever Girls Collective supports Blog With Integrity.

I admit, it took me about 25-30 minutes to decide what I wanted to purchase with my gift card as I stood in front of all CoverGirl had to offer at Kroger. Being a visual communicator, I could not help but notice the displays and the awesome packaging of the products. It all had a clean, fresh feeling. Which leads me to the first item in my haul:

  • CoverGirl’s Clean Sensitive Skin Pressed Powder. In celebration of their 50th Anniversary, CoverGirl released a limited edition pressed powder compact that come in three different patterns. I picked up the green crocodile. Main reason this made it into my haul is a portion of each compact sold will benefit the P&G Children’s Safe Drinking Water Fund. The powder’s coverage is light and gives you a matte finish. I like having something attractive to drop in my purse.
  • Second item in my haul, Lash Blast Fusion Mascara. Main thing I like about this mascara is it does not clump on my lashes and the bristles separate instead of me ending up looking like I have four hot mess eyelashes.
  • Smoky Shadow Blast dual eyeshadow. I had high hopes for this product, as the idea of creamy eye shadow was rather intriguing to me. The first color is meant to be worn on the entire eyelid and the second color is where you add the smoky look to your eye. While I love the colors, I was not as impressed with this shadow as I was hoping. It is rather sheer, creases unless you put some kind of base on your lids to make the shadow last longer. Basically, this creamy shadow reinforced why I don’t use cream shadows in the first place.
  • Next thing in my haul is one of my favorites and I can not believe I have not used Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers before now. For the love of all things tasty, this lip gloss made me smell delicious and good enough to eat. No lie. It goes on sheer, but the coverage is perfect and is not sticky at all. This has definitely become a new favorite for me.
  • Final item I picked up in my haul is a long time favorite. The Perfect Point Plus Eye Pencil is wonderful. It goes on smooth and gives me a perfect line every single time. Espresso is my color of choice. It is a deep dark brown, that has all the qualities of rich black without the harshness of a black liner.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my CoverGirl haul and if I had it to do over again, I would pick up just about everything I purchased.
